Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford insists there’s plenty of room left for improvement after his side’s 2-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain.

The 22-year-old struck a 87th minute winner at the Parc des Princes to give United the perfect start to their tricky Champions League group.

United’s victory was deserved but they had plenty of opportunities earlier on in the game to snatch all three points, with Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial all squandering good chances.

Rashford was understandably delighted to guide his side to all three points but the forward believes the side need to be more clinical in front of goal if they’re to progress into the latter stages of the competition.

‘I thought we did well today in stages,’ Rashford told MUTV.

‘Some of the decision-making in the first half and even in the second half was poor in the final third – that’s one thing we can work on and improve on.

‘The manager got it spot on today. The system allowed us to express ourselves going forward but also to be tight defensively, which I think we did as well as we could have.

‘I think it’s a big win but we’ve got a lot to build on and improve on as well.’

After a disastrous start to the season, United have won back-to-back games after the international break and both of the goals they have conceded have been own goals.

Solskjaer’s side take on Chelsea at Old Trafford on Saturday and the Norwegian will be hoping that Harry Maguire can regain fitness in time to face the Blues.

Axel Tuanzebe put in a sensational performance in his first game in ten months in Maguire’s absence in Paris but the 22-year-old may struggle to play a second 90 minutes this week.
