Dodgers: Vin Scully Post His First Message to Fans on Social Media

Vin Scully finally made the jump into social media this week. The legendary Dodgers’ broadcaster got onto all of the major sites to reconnect with fans and hopefully spark up meaningful conversations. Today, he posted his first message to those fans that he misses so dearly.

Vin talks about making his social media debut and the welcome that he got from fans. He also said that he hoped to talk about baseball memories and to stay away from ‘controversial’ conversations. From what it sounds like, the Dodgers’ broadcaster is excited to get back into the baseball loop.

In an interview with Jim Hill, Vin explained why he wanted to get into social media at 92-years-old. In his mind, he wanted to make up for all of the good years that Dodgers fans gave him.

I can’t believe that I’ve had such a good life. And that’s a terrible obligation to try and make up for it, so I’m trying the best I can. And in the course of doing the social media, I will try to tell people how grateful I am…my life has bubbled over so much because of the good feelings I’ve received.

Whatever the reason he’s here, we’re just so happy to get to hear from Vin again. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear from him for many more years as Dodgers fans.

Scully was the Dodges broadcaster for 67 years starting in 1950 alongside Red Barber and Connie Desmond. He retired following the 2016 season but appears on occasion for the team still. He just narrated a video honoring the late Kobe Bryant on August 24th.
