Leon Edwards slams ‘pu**y’ Jorge Masvidal for going after rematch against ‘journeyman’ Nate Diaz

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is looking to book a rematch against Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz to potentially headline UFC 257 in early 2021. While most are thrilled at the possibility of seeing the two scrappy Welterweights go at it one more time, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm.

Chief among the critics is Leon Edwards, who has a bitter history with “Gamebred.” To hear “Rocky” tell it, Masvidal isn’t proving to be a true “BMF” by going after a man he already beat and is ranked low on the rankings instead of finally signing on the dotted line to fight him.

“Could have fought number 3, yet chose to fight number 12,” wrote Edwards on Twitter. “Eventually this pussy will fight me, I’m all for money fights but watching two journey men go at it again when it wasn’t even competitive is a joke. And this is the “BMF,” he concluded.

Edwards and Masvidal’s beef is well-documented which stems from the backstage scuffle the two had which saw “Gamebred” deliver his “three piece and a soda” special to “Rocky” shortly after he knocked out Darren Till at UFC on ESPN+ 5 back in March of 2019.

The two have gone at each other over social media but they haven’t been able to lock down a fight against one another. Edwards has only managed to sneak one fight in since, defeating Rafael dos Anjos well over a year ago. His scheduled fight against Tyron Woodley was scrapped due to COVID-19 and he’s been riding the pine ever since.

Masvidal, meanwhile, has competed twice after his altercation with the British brawler, defeating Diaz at UFC 244 and then coming up short against division king, Kamaru Usman, at UFC 251 this past July.

While it makes all the sense in the world to book a fight between Edwards and Masvidal, it seems Dana White and Co. are going for what can bag them the most cash, first.
