PGA Tour 2k21 is live, and if you love golf it’s worth your time

Grab a controller, golf fans, because PGA Tour 2k21 is officially here.

The latest golf video game developed by HB Studios launched on Friday and is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch and Stadia.

If you’re reading this you might be thinking, “why play a video game when you can go play an actual round of golf?” Well, because in real life I can’t play a round at Riviera Country Club in a foursome with Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau and Jim Furyk.

But I can do that and more with PGA Tour 2k21.

For those who are new to golf video games, PGA Tour 2k21 has tutorials, tips and shot suggestions to help you get started, while the veterans can take advance of advanced features to perfectly shape every shot.

You can play against a computer or against friends in a variety of matches, including alt-shot, stroke play, skins and even a four-player scramble. Team up with friends online and create an Online Society, where you can run full seasons of tournaments. Players can also create their very own player and enter Career Mode, where they’ll start on the Korn Ferry Tour and play their way to PGA Tour greatness.

Other professionals in the game include Gary Woodland, Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Cameron Champ, Kevin Kisner, Billy Horschel and Patrick Cantlay.

The 15 licensed courses you can play

  • Atlantic Beach Country Club
  • Copperhead Course
  • East Lake Golf Club
  • Quail Hollow Club
  • Riviera Country Club
  • TPC Boston
  • TPC Deere Run
  • TPC Louisiana
  • TPC River Highlands
  • TPC San Antonio
  • TPC Sawgrass
  • TPC Scottsdale
  • TPC Southwind
  • TPC Summerlin
  • TPC Twin Cities

If those courses aren’t good enough for you and you fancy yourself a golf architect, put yourself in Donald Ross’ shoes and create your own track with the Course Designer feature.

While nothing can beat an actual round with friends or family (or the Tiger Woods game where you could play Augusta National), PGA Tour 2k21 is the next-best thing.
