Paris Saint-Germain have reached their first-ever Champions League final after beating RB Leipzig in a one-sided semi-final in Lisbon.

Goals from Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat saw the French champions defeat Leipzig 3-0 on Tuesday evening.

Thomas Tuchel’s side will now face either German champions Bayern Munich of fellow French club Lyon in Sunday’s final.

PSG have been desperate to lift the Champions League over the past decade and the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Di Maria have reacted to their impressive semi-final victory.

Di Maria, who produced a Player of the Match performance with a goal and two assists, said: ‘We played at 100%. We knew that with our energy we could qualify.

‘We are one step away from making history for PSG.’

Thiago Silva, who has been heavily linked with a move away from PSG, added: ‘There were difficult moments. But today we have deserved to reach the final.

‘It’s historic but it’s not finished. For now, yes Sunday is my last match. It’s very important.

‘I’ve already said that I wanted to finish in Europe with PSG. I’m calm. My heart will be here forever, it’s red and blue for life.’

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, meanwhile, said: ‘It’s a historic night for the club, magnificent.

‘I am proud of the club, it’s our first final. Honestly, it’s a dream but it must not stop tonight.

‘We are close to our dream of the Champions League. Our supporters can’t be with us but this win is for them.’

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann admitted his side were second best against PSG but insisted he felt the German team can continue to develop and improve next season.

He said: ‘I think at the end, the ticket for the final for PSG is well deserved.

‘The first 10 minutes we did well, we were good in the game. The final third was hectic, no good finishes. Then we get the free kick and the goal.

‘After the second goal it was hard to come back into the game, PSG have a lot of quality. They were the better team today. It’s hard, but footall is sometimes like that.’
