Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer is reportedly close to signing non-league winger Dennon Lewis.
Fans may recognise the 23-year-old from the 2019 edition of Love Island after he arrived in Casa Amor.
Despite scoring with Maura Higgins, Lewis left the villa after failing to couple up with anyone.
However, it appears as though he could well be Charlton Athletic’s type on paper as the club search for more firepower.
The Wealdstone star has been pictured training with the club and he knows Bowyer well having worked together at Watford.
Ipswich, Sunderland, Huddersfield, Oxford and Leyton Orient have all reportedly shown interest in the player, who scored 14 and set up another 11 as Wealdstone won the National League title.
Lewis made headlines before his stint in Love Island when he was racially abused by his own fans while playing for Scottish Championship side Falkirk.
He was subjected to vile insults from a small section of travelling supporters at Stenhousemuir’s Ochilview Park.
The London lad made his feelings clear on Instagram after the game, telling his followers: “I have never gone through a period like this in my life.
“From a footballing standpoint things are not going as planned for anyone involved at the club, however from a personal standpoint never in a million years would I have expected to be subject to racial abuse from Falkirk fans.”
