(Story updated at 5:10 p.m. ET on Aug. 7, 2020 with information from CFFC officials that Magomedsharipov withdrew from the fight shortly after the booking was completed.)

Another Magomedsharipov is looking to make his way up the MMA ranks, but his CFFC debut will have to wait.

Cage Fury Fighting Championships officials informed MMA Junkie that Gasan Magomedsharipov (2-0), the younger brother of UFC featherweight contender Zabit Magomedsharipov, has elected to withdraw from next week’s CFFC 82 event.

Magomedsharipov (2-0) was expected to face Ali Zebian (4-1) in a lightweight contest but decided to pull out of the event when Zabit’s fight with Yair Rodriguez was indefinitely delayed by an injury to “El Pantera.”

Magomedsharipov made his professional debut this past December and fought twice in a week’s span, proving victorious in both contests.

CFFC 82 takes place Aug. 12 behind closed doors at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The card streams live on UFC Fight Pass.

With the addition to the card, CFFC 82 includes:

  • Champ Shawn Teed vs. Carl Seumanutafa – for heavyweight title
  • Santo Curatolo vs. James Mancini – for vacant flyweight title
  • Terry Bartholomew vs. Phil Caracappa
  • Connor Dixon vs. Yohan Lainesse
  • Robert Gidron vs. Solomon Renfro
  • Isaiah Monroe vs. Joey Tizzano
