Liverpool have entered the race for Leeds United target Ben White, and are also keen on signing Norwich full-back Jamal Lewis this summer, reports claim.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his defensive options after Dejan Lovren’s exit to Zenit Saint Petersburg, while it is claimed Joel Matip could also leave in this window.
The 28-year-old former Cameroon international has been linked with a move to PSG, and it is claimed the Reds are looking to bring some British talent to Anfield as a possible replacement.
White was a revelation for Leeds during his season-long loan at Elland Road last season, helping the Yorkshire club to the Championship title and a return to the Premier League after 16 years away.
The White are keen to sign the 22-year-old permanently in time for their top-flight campaign but have so far been unable to do a deal with his parent club, Brighton.
But the Daily Mirror claim the Reds have now entered the race for the centre-back.
The paper also link Liverpool with an interest in Norwich left-back Lewis as back-up to Andy Robertson.
At 22, Lewis is a year younger than Robertson was when he arrived at Anfield from Hull and soon became one of the top-performing full-backs in world football.
And, also like when they signed Robertson from the Tigers, the Reds want to pluck Lewis from Norwich following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, and are said to be preparing a £10million bid.
The Canaries are also reportedly interested in Liverpool’s young left-back Yasser Larouci, who has turned down a new contract at Anfield and will leave this summer, which could sway negotiations in their favour.
Klopp is also said to be tracking Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, the versatile 21-year-old who can play at full-back and centre-back.
