Manchester United’s move for Jadon Sancho will fund 60% of Ferran Torres’ transfer to the Etihad once the former Manchester City winger completes his £108m move to Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old is set to complete a move to Old Trafford this summer. with hope from the player’s representatives that a deal could be completed in the next 72 hours.
Sancho left City for Dortmund in 2018 in a deal worth around £8m and City installed a sell-on clause in the winger’s deal that would see City receive 15% of the profit of any move the England international made.
Dortmund have held out for a £108m fee and it looks as though the Bundesliga giants are going to get their demands, meaning City are entitled to a windfall of £15m.
That £15m will pay for 60% of City’s £25m deal for Valencia winger Ferran Torres, meaning Guardiola’s side have effectively signed the winger for £10m.
Torres completed his move to the Etihad on Tuesday evening, signing a five-year deal with City.
Sancho has already agreed personal terms with United and is set to earn around £220,000-a-week before bonuses.
The winger will be given United’s no.7 shirt once Alexis Sanvhez’s move to Inter Milan is finalised.
United are willing to let Sanchez join the Serie A giants on a free transfer in order to get his sky-high £450,000-a-week wages off the books.
Despite the emergence of Mason Greenwood, Solskjaer wants Sancho to play on the right-wing. The Norwegian doesn’t want to pile too much pressure on the 18-year-old’s shoulders and Sancho’s arrival means Greenwood will be able to play anywhere across the front line.
